Many people want to donate their time and money to organizations and charities, but it is hard to know which one is going to use the money to help. If there is someone you know who needed help and got it from an organization, consider giving back to that organization. If you volunteer at a homeless shelter or at church, find out where they get some of their funds and donate it to that cause.

There are private organizations that would be a great place to donate your money, time, and unused basic things like toothbrushes to. Organizations have auctions, dinners, and other activities to help raise money. In some ways you have to know someone who works with the cause to know that it is legit.

Thinking of Others

If you already know about the organization, definitely continue to contribute money, time and clothing or hygiene items. People who receive even these items feel like someone took time to think about them. There is a security to know someone has your back, especially if you find yourself in a difficult situation – financial or otherwise.

Being Greatful and Giving Back

Giving back feels wonderful. You don’t realize how lucky and fortunate most of us are. For example, most of us have a place to live and our own toothbrush to use. We have clean water to drink and a clean place to go to the bathroom. It is so different to be on the other side and consider the possibility of sleeping under a bridge or not having enough food for dinner.

Donating Food to Churches

Food banks and churches help families in need a lot. Lots of churches put food into back packs for kids and distribute them to kids of families who are struggling financially. Think about how happy you help a child look forward to seeing what they will get to eat over the weekend. Not to mention how much you help the struggling parent.
